Getting Paid
What Stripe asks you for, what it costs, and what happens if you skip it.
What you keep
TaskRel takes nothing out of what your clients pay you.
- Client paysBy card, from the link on your invoice.
- StripeProcesses the card and takes its own fee.
- Your bankThe rest is paid out to you.
- TaskRel's cut
- None. There is no platform fee on client payments.
- Stripe's cut
- Stripe's own card processing fee, charged by Stripe.
- Where money lands
- Your bank account, from your own Stripe account.
- Your subscription
- Separate: $24.99 monthly or $250 yearly, paid to TaskRel.
The payment link is created on your Stripe account rather than TaskRel's, so the money is never routed through us and there is nothing for us to deduct on the way past.
What Stripe asks you for
Identity and bank details, because Stripe is a regulated financial company, not because TaskRel wants them.
TaskRel never sees or stores any of this. You enter it with Stripe, and we are told only whether you are verified.
- Your name
- Legal first and last name.
- Date of birth
- You must be at least 13.
- Home address
- A street address. PO boxes are not accepted.
- Email and phone
- How Stripe reaches you about your account.
- SSN
- The last 4 digits only, not your full number.
- Your business
- A website, or a description of what you do instead.
- Industry
- The category your work falls under.
- Statement name
- At least 5 characters, resembling your business name.
- Bank account
- Where your payouts go.
If you do not have a website
You can still connect. Describe your business instead.
Stripe's form asks for a business website, and plenty of good trades do not have one. A product description is an accepted alternative: say plainly what you do and who you do it for, such as residential plumbing repairs and installations for homeowners.
Stripe's form does not lead with that alternative, so this is a common place to stop and assume you cannot proceed. You can.
Verification and payouts
Verification usually takes minutes. Payouts follow Stripe's schedule for your account.
Once verified, the payments screen shows the bank account your money lands in and how often Stripe pays out. If the form is incomplete, Finish verification reopens it where you left off.
Running TaskRel without Stripe
Only online card payment depends on it. Everything else works.
Works without Stripe
- Quoting and the AI draft
- Scheduling and your calendar
- Job cards and completion records
- Creating and sending invoices
- Booking requests from your page
Needs Stripe
- A Pay online link on your invoice
- Card payments from clients
- Payouts to your bank
Invoices still go out without it, and your client just pays you however they already do. You can connect Stripe later, and it applies to invoices you send from then on.
