Getting Started
Set up your business and send your first quote.
What TaskRel is
Quoting, scheduling and invoicing for small service businesses, built to be used on a phone in the field.
Describe a job in plain English, TaskRel drafts a priced quote, and approved work carries through to scheduling, invoicing and payment. One subscription covers every tool, and they share one client list, one business identity, one set of payment rails.
- Price
- $24.99 per month, or $250 per year, about two months free.
- Trial
- 14 days with a card on file, on your first subscription only.
- Built for
- Solo operators up to roughly ten employees.
- Services
- 15 categories, from trades and cleaning to IT, design and consulting.
You own the numbers: TaskRel drafts prices, the server recalculates every total, and any rate you edit is remembered. Phone screens come first because that is where the work happens.
Create your account
Sign up, then confirm your email address before your first sign in.
- Enter your business name in Name. It appears on your quotes, and can change later.
- Enter the Email address you want to sign in with.
- Choose a Password of 8 to 72 characters.
- Tap Create account, then follow the link in the confirmation email.
Setup then asks for three things: your business details, the services you quote, and your quote defaults. All of it is editable later in Settings.
Your business profile
These details appear on every document a client receives, so this is what makes your quotes look like yours.
In Settings under Business settings, the Business information card.
- Business name, shown on every quote document.
- Business phone and Website, optional, shown to clients.
- License or trust line, such as a license number or an insured statement.
- Your logo, optional, now or later.
- Services you quote
- Pick everything you offer, so drafts read like your trade rather than generic line items. You still choose the service per job, so several does not lock you in.
Quote defaults
Set your template and standing text once, so every new quote starts out correct.
The Document defaults card previews what clients receive as you edit.
- Standard
- Polished and structured: the complete professional quote.
- Refined
- Whitespace led and restrained, for high value work.
- Compact
- A practical field service layout for repeat or simple jobs.
- Default client note, the standing message that opens your quotes.
- Default terms, your payment and scope terms.
- Policies and warranty, anything a client should read before approving.
Starter text is suggested for all three. Use it, edit it, or clear it, and override any of them per quote.
Add overhead defaults folds an Overhead percent or Fixed overhead per job into pricing. That math is internal, and clients never see it.
Connect payments
Connecting Stripe is what turns an invoice into something a client can pay online.
Open the Getting paid card in Settings, then Client payments. Each step is marked done as you clear it.
- Connect[[Set up Stripe Connect]] hands you to Stripe.
- Stripe verifiesUsually minutes. [[Finish verification]] reopens an incomplete form.
- Links appearEvery invoice you send carries a Pay online link.
Quoting, scheduling and invoicing all work without Stripe. Only online card payment needs it. What Stripe asks for, and why, is in Getting Paid.
Your first quote
Capture the job, review the draft, send it. This is the whole path.
- DescribeType, dictate or photograph it. Only the client name is required.
- DraftScope, line items, quantities, units and starting prices.
- ReviewRows collapsed, one editor at a time, total in view.
- SendEmail or SMS. The PDF renders from the same markup as the screen.
- Client decidesApprove, request changes, decline or download.
- InvoiceApproved work converts; scheduled jobs land on your calendar.
Nothing is re-entered. Copy the client link yourself, or preview the page as they see it. Photos you attach stay private and never reach the client document.
Editing a price saves it to your catalog for that service, item and unit, so drafts get closer to your real numbers over time. Future quotes only.
A sent quote is read only, so your records and the client's copy can never disagree. Edit & resend sends a fresh document instead.
